President Donald Trump has shared a signed statement from Stormy Daniels in which she denies receiving “hush money” or ever being involved in an “affair.”
Trump shared the documents on Truth Social on Wednesday.
“Look what was just found!” Trump wrote in the post alongside the statement.
“Will the fake news report it?”
The document is titled “Official Statement of Stormy Daniels” with a date of January 30, 2018.
In the statement, Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, denies ever having sexual relations with Trump or receiving any “hush money” from the 45th president.
She goes on to assert that she isn’t denying the affair because she was paid to but “because it never happened.”
“Over the past few weeks I have been asked countless times to comment on reports of an alleged sexual relationship I had with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago,” the statement from Daniels says.
“The fact of the matter is that each party to this alleged affair denied its existence in 2006, 2011 [sic], 2016, 2017 and now again in 2018.
“I am not denying this affair because I was paid ‘hush money’ as has been reported in overseas-owned tabloids.
“I am denying this affair because it never happened.
“I will have no further comment on this matter.”
The latter has emerged following recent allegations from Daniels’ former attorney Michael Avennati.
Avennati has come forward with allegations that Daniels was having an affair with Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.
According to Avennati, the affair and “hush money” claims were just a scam fabricated by Cohen and Daniels to cash in from Trump.
Cohen, who has repeatedly been caught committing perjury, is a “star witness” in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “hush money” case against Trump.
Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 through a shell company Cohen set up.
When he was caught, Cohen claimed Trump directed him to arrange the payment to Daniels as “hush money.”
Trump is facing 34 counts in New York for falsifying business records on alleged payments made to Daniels before the 2016 election.
He has long asserted that the payments made to his then-lawyer Cohen were legal fees.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing or of having an affair with Daniels.
