Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk has released some shocking figures to demonstrate the dire state of America’s Social Security system.
In a post on X, Musk revealed that millions of people listed in a Social Security database are recorded as still living far beyond 100 years old.
He noted that when “the death field [is] set to FALSE,” the database lists millions of “living” Americans between the ages of 100 and 159.
Alarmingly, the database shows one person between the ages of 360 and 369 is listed in the Social Security database.
Adding a couple of rolling-on-the-floor-laughing emojis alongside a screenshot of the data, Musk posted:
“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!
“Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security.”
Musk’s post features a chart indicating there are more than 20 million listed with ages 100 and higher.
This includes more than 3.9 million in the 130-139 age range and more than 3.5 million in the 140-149 range.
It also shows more than 1.3 million in the 150-159 range.
The numbers from the database are a long way from reality, however.
While the U.S. population count in the 2020 census was more than 331 million, the count of people ages 100 and older was just under 90,000, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.
In 2021, there were 89,739 people aged 100 and older in the United States.
The oldest American citizen to have ever lived was Sarah Knauss (1880 – 1999).
Knauss reached the age of 119 years and 97 days.
In another post on X, Musk declared:
“The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE.
“No one person actually knows how it works.
“The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild.”
In another post, Musk said:
“There are FAR more ‘eligible’ social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA.
“This might be the biggest fraud in history.”
The Social Security Administration has yet to issue a statement on the troubling findings.
President Donald Trump tapped Musk to spearhead DOGE, an effort to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer funds in the federal government.
