Blogger Comment: This is an article, "where and how" the USA Democrat dominated legacy-MSM (officially in this respect throughout America and where the official news/programmes analysed for the American people was 85% for the Democrats and 15% for Trump, so it certainly appears that the American people have woken up to the truth now and the legacy-MSM tell constant lies to them) "twist the truth" and where if you read below, you will find that the woman was the aggressor and NOT Hegseth, as it was all on video prior to the supposed rape and where the cops have investigated and seen exactly what went on that night through video footage and where she was not taken advantage of, but Hegseth, as he had had quite a few too many and was led by the woman to his hotel room - and where the police confirmed that they brought no charges after discovering evidence that conflicted with the “rape” claim...strange though how this supposingly Democrat false accusation news came out in the wrong way all together as usual from Democrat MSM, after when Hegseth was nominated for US Secretary-of-Defense...hmm...
Pete Hegseth’s lawyer has revealed that the incoming Department of Defense secretary has been “extorted” for money.
Hegseth reportedly had a consensual sexual encounter with a married woman who accused him of rape.
The claims are an attempt to get money out of him, Hegseth’s lawyer said.
The woman’s claims emerged shortly after President Donald Trump nominated Hegseth to lead the Pentagon.
Hegseth is a decorated Army veteran and critic of the “woke” influence in the military.
A memo that was sent to Trump’s team said the woman claims to have a “hazy memory” of allegedly being raped after meeting Hegseth at a hotel in California.
Hegseth gave a talk at the hotel in 2017, the Washington Post reported.
The police in Monterey, California have confirmed that they investigated the alleged incident at the time.
However, police confirmed that they brought no charges after discovering evidence that conflicted with the “rape” claim.
Hegseth’s lawyer Timothy Parlatore suggested the alleged victim had fabricated the rape claim to cover up an affair.
The woman was staying at the hotel with her husband and her children when she encountered Hegseth.
“This is a situation where a consensual encounter occurred and, unfortunately, the woman had to come up with a lie to explain why the woman had not come back to her husband’s room that night,” Parlatore said.
The police investigated the incident and received a report “days later.”
Investigators found that contemporaneous video evidence revealed that the woman was “the aggressor.”
According to Parlatore, Hegseth was “visibly intoxicated” as the woman led him by the arm to his hotel room.
“It wasn’t reported until days later until there was pressure from her husband,” he added.
“It was fully investigated by police and video surveillance as well as multiple eyewitness statements show that she was the aggressor.”
While Hegseth maintains his innocence, his lawyer confirmed that he paid the woman an undisclosed amount in 2023 to avoid the publicity of a lawsuit.
The allegation would likely have cost him his job at Fox News.
Hegseth was initially warned the woman was threatening to sue two years after the alleged incident.
His lawyers settled for “far, far less than what she wanted,” Parlatore said.
He called the transaction “essentially an extortion and blackmail.”
“However, knowing that it was the height of the #MeToo movement and any public accusation would result in his immediate termination from Fox, Mr. Hegseth ultimately decided to enter into a settlement for a significantly reduced amount,” Parlatore said.
Hegseth’s nomination to be Defense Secretary has led to furious backlash from critics.
Many on the Left have wrongly called him unqualified to lead the world’s largest military.
He has even been scrutinized over a tattoo evoking the Crusades, with critics painting him as a “right-wing extremist.”
Trump is standing by Hegseth, nevertheless.
Hegseth is just one controversial Cabinet pick Trump has named to shake up D.C.
In a statement, Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung said:
“Mr. Hegseth has vigorously denied any and all accusations, and no charges were filed.
“We look forward to his confirmation.”
