Canada's Birth Rate Plummets to Record Low, Far Below Sustainable Level

Canada’s birth rate has plunged yet again to a record low as the country now faces a natural population crisis.

The newly released data for 2023 shows the birth rate has now plummeted so low that it is far below the level required for a sustainable population.

The Canadian government’s data, published by Statistics Canada, shows that the national average birth rate across all provinces and territories has fallen to just 1.26 babies per woman.

The birth rate must be 2.0 or higher for a country to maintain its population.

For a nation to grow, irrespective of immigration, the rate must be at least 2.1 births per woman.

Statistics Canada revealed that the country has “joined the group of ‘lowest-low’ fertility countries, including South Korea, Spain, Italy, and Japan, with 1.3 children per woman or less.”

By comparison, the United States’ overall fertility rate was 1.62 per woman in 2023.

In 2023, 10 of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories recorded a new record low birth rate.

When looking at the data, the province of British Columbia had the lowest fertility rate.

British Columbia recorded a bone-chilling birth rate of just 1.00 child per woman.

The province with the highest fertility rate was Saskatchewan, which still stood at a low figure of 1.63.

The northern territory of Nunavut had the highest birth rate out of any major jurisdiction in the country, at 2.48.

As for the other provinces, Quebec’s birth rate came in at 1.38, with Ontario’s at 1.22, Alberta’s at 1.41, and Manitoba’s at 1.52.

Atlantic provinces’ rates were extremely low, meanwhile.

Nova Scotia’s birth rate clocked in at just 1.05 babies per woman.

The statistics also revealed that not only are Canadian women not having babies but when they do, they are older than before.

The average age of first-time mothers is now 31.5 years.

This has increased significantly from 27.5 in 1991.

In total, there were 351,878 babies born in Canada in 2023.

However, the number would be much greater if not for abortion.

According to the most recent data, 97,211 Canadian babies were aborted in 2022.

Overall, Canada’s birth rate has been on the decline for decades.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal federal government has been heavily promoting contraception and abortion.

As the birth rates continue to plunge, Trudeau’s government has been using immigration as a means of growing the population with third-world migrants.

While America’s birth rate is still higher than Canada’s, the United States is still far below a sustainable level.

As Slay News reported, an August report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed that birth rates in the United States are continuing to plummet in an alarming downward spiral.

According to the report from the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the U.S. annual birth rate fell significantly again in 2023.

The data shows that birth rates have fallen by 2% since 2022, and 17% since reaching a peak in 2007.

The general fertility rate has also fallen by 21% during that time.

The falling birth rates come as excess deaths have continued to surge since 2021, creating a looming population crisis.

As Slay News reported in July, a separate CDC report revealed that infant mortality rates have now soared to a record high.

Newly released CDC data shows that death rates for American babies spiked massively in 2022.

The surge marks the first jump in infant mortality rates in twenty years.
