X boss Elon Musk has warned the public that “news” outlet Reuters is actually a paid propaganda operation.
Musk revealed that Reuters has been pushing phony investigations into his businesses on behalf of President Joe Biden’s administration.
He called the purported connection “insane” and said it “explains a lot.”
Reuters is “paid propaganda” that should be ashamed, he added.
Musk accurately noted that Reuters is a propaganda operation that parades as an international news agency.
Slay News can attest to Musk’s claims after receiving multiple threats from Reuters’ representatives who attempt to bully us into lying to our readers.
Of course, Slay News would never bend the knee but it’s possible that these tactics have been used against other outlets who may have complied with Reuters’ demands.
The connection between Reuters and the Biden admin was exposed by Mike Benz.
Benz leads the pro-free speech organization Foundation For Freedom Online.
On Tuesday, Benz noted in a post on X that the outgoing Biden administration “paid Reuters over $300 million in government contracts” while simultaneously 11 US government agencies “targeted Elon’s businesses.”
Benz cited public records reported by the database usaspending.gov as evidence of his claim, as well as a series of reports by Reuters about the entrepreneur who won a Pulitzer Prize in May.
The series, titled “The Musk Industrial Complex,” focused on “grave harms to consumers, workers and laboratory animals across Elon Musk’s manufacturing empire.”
Musk has emerged as a close ally of President Donald Trump after endorsing his candidacy in mid-July.
He is slated to become a senior member of the incoming US administration responsible for cutting government inefficiency.
Prior to backing Trump in the election, Musk was heavily criticized by left-leading public figures and media outlets for his management of X, which he purchased in 2022.
The stated objective of his multibillion-dollar acquisition was to eradicate censorship on the platform.
Before Musk bought X, it was silencing pro-conservative voices.
Musk has faced a backlash from leftist critics over his promise to restore free speech on the platform.
The EU has threatened the platform with legal penalties for allegedly failing to tackle so-called “disinformation.”
Last week, the Musk Foundation was accused of failing to meet federal requirements for charitable organizations.
The allegations were based on its latest tax returns submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The New York Times has since reported that Musk and his firm SpaceX are being investigated for compliance with federal rules on classified information.
Musk responded to the report by stating that “deep state traitors are coming after me, using their paid shills in legacy media.”
In March, Musk stated: “The legacy media lies as easy as breathing.”
He added that “Reuters is the worst right now.”
