Trump to Seek Restraining Order to Stop Biden's Border Wall Sell-Off: 'Almost a Criminal Act'

President Donald Trump has dropped the hammer over reports that materials for his unfinished Southern Border wall are being sold off by the outgoing administration.

During a news conference from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump blasted President Joe Biden over the move and warned that he plans to seek a restraining order to stop the sell-off.

The president-elect argues that selling off parts of the wall is “almost a criminal act.”

Trump made the statement after it emerged that the Biden administration was selling off portions of the border wall in public auctions.

The Biden administration’s goal is to unload the border wall before Trump takes office in January.

Republican Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) found that the administration was recouping just 0.2% of the original cost of the wall material to taxpayers.

“The administration is trying to sell it for five cents on the dollar knowing that we’re getting ready to put it up,” Trump said in a press conference.

“What they’re doing … It’s almost a criminal act.

“They know that we’re going to use it and if we don’t have it we’re going to have to rebuild it and it will cost double what it cost years ago and that’s hundreds of millions of dollars.”

“I spoke with the Attorney General of Texas, I spoke with the Senators of Texas, I spoke to a lot of people and hopefully they’ll be able to stop it,” Trump added.

“We’re going to be having a restraining order.

“I am asking Joe Biden today to please stop selling the wall.”

He also explained that some buyers have already purchased the border wall at three cents on the dollar before offering to sell it back to the Trump administration at hundreds of dollars a foot.

“That has nothing to do with a smooth transition that has to do with people really trying to stop our nation,” Trump charged.

“And all it means really is that we’re going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars more, not even talking about the time.

“We’ll spend hundreds of millions of dollars more on building the same wall that we already have.”

Trump’s comments come after Sen. Schmitt of Missouri wrote a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Schmitt is demanding that the auctioning off of the wall cease immediately.

“While recouping less than 0.02% of taxpayer money used to secure these materials, the Biden Administration is sabotaging the incoming Trump Administration just weeks ahead of President Trump’s inauguration,” he wrote.

“These border wall materials will cost tens of thousands of U.S. taxpayer dollars to replace and will be critical to stem the record flow of millions of illegal immigrants who were welcomed across our border during the Biden Administration.”
