Popular YouTuber Alexandra Starling, best known as “Pretty Pastel Please,” has died suddenly from heart failure, according to her family.
The Australian travel and fashion content creator, who had 691,000 subscribers on YouTube, was just 30 years old when she died.
The sad announcement was made on her Instagram page.
The post revealed that Alexandra, known affectionately as Alex, passed away in June.
The post described her passing as “sudden, unexpected, and devastating to all who knew her.”
The Instagram statement featured a touching image of Alex holding her pet bird with “In Memoriam” written above.
The post asked for privacy for her family and friends during this difficult time.
“We would ask that you respect their wishes — they appreciate all of your support but need time to heal in private,” the message stated.
“A memorial will be posted on YouTube and Instagram in due course.
“Thank you for understanding in this difficult time.”
In an update, the influencer’s family posted to Facebook to share details of a memorial for the star in Scotland, where her family is based.
The post also shared the coroner’s report on her “sudden” passing.
“Our beloved Alexandra passed away almost 6 weeks ago next Wednesday at approximately 8.30 pm on the 26th of June 2024” the post began.
“It was determined by the Tasmanian Coroner that Alexandra’s sudden death was due to a very rare, debilitating, and fatal infection of her heart.
“A condition that affects approximately one in every fifteen million people named LYMPHOCYTIC MYOCARDITIS.” it continued.
The post noted that Alex had been “feeling faint, and short of breath” shortly before she died.
“This was, unbeknown to her due to her heart failing,” the post explains.
The post adds that Alex had suffered “extreme reactions to the Covid MRNA Vaccine boosters.”
According to the Johns Hopkins Medicine website, lymphocytic myocarditis “occurs when white blood cells (lymphocytes) enter and cause inflammation of the heart muscle.”
Myocarditis restricts the heart’s ability to pump blood around the body, leading to blood clots, strokes, cardiac arrest, and ultimately, sudden death.
It is often symptomless and can go undiagnosed, acting as a ticking timebomb in sufferers who are unaware they have myocarditis until it’s too late.
Cases of myocarditis and related sudden deaths have skyrocketed around the world since Covid mRNA shots were first rolled out in 2021.
Since starting her YouTube journey in December 2017, Alex has garnered a following of over 690,000 subscribers.
She had recently expanded her presence to Twitch, with her final live stream on June 25.
Alex’s content ranged from fun and quirky challenges, like eating only 7-Eleven food in Japan for a week—a video that racked up over 4 million views—to endearing moments like her pet bird “whispering” into a microphone for five minutes.
In addition to her entertaining videos, Alex shared her struggles with her audience.
In July 2023, she openly discussed her divorce from her husband Dan.
Previously, she had candidly addressed the challenges of dealing with online trolls.
