During a question and answer session at Russia’s Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Putin also blasted President Donald Trump for hitting his country with crippling sanctions.
He continued by saying that he hopes that Harris would “refrain” from targeting Russia with sanctions if she’s elections.
However, Putin did take a swipe at Harris by mocking her infamous cackle, provoking laughter from the audience.
“Firstly, (US President Joe) Biden recommended all his supporters support Mrs. Harris,” Putin explained.
“Here, we are going to do that too, we’re going to support her,” he added.
“She laughs so contagiously that it shows that everything is fine with her,” the Russian leader joked as the crowd laughed.
“(President Donald) Trump has imposed as many sanctions on Russia as any president has ever imposed before, and if Harris is doing well, perhaps she will refrain from such actions.”
WATCH:
The comments from Putin come after the Biden-Harris administration and the corporate media have begun pushing the narrative that Russia is trying to rig the 2024 election from Trump.
On Wednesday, officials with the Biden-Harris admin Office of the Director of National Intelligence claimed they uncovered a plot by Russia to help “install” Trump.
The Biden-Harris- admin issued sanctions, indictments, and seized web domains over allegations that Russia uses them to spread “disinformation” and propaganda.
Two employees of state-run Russian news network RT were indicted on Wednesday.
RT and its top editors Margarita Simonyan and her deputy Elizaveta Brodskaia were slapped with sanctions after they were accused of attempting to meddle in the presidential election
Simonyan was a “central figure in Russian government malign influence efforts,” the Treasury Department said.
Brodskaia “reported to Russian President Putin and other government officials,” officials said.
In response, the Kremlin said it would take retaliatory action against American news outlets.
Moscow accused the U.S. of purging any dissenting voices from the global media landscape and stoking fears among American voters about Russia as a mythical external enemy.
In February, Putin backed President Joe Biden over Trump.
Democrats and their corporate media allies have repeatedly insisted that Russia has interfered in recent elections to help Trump.
However, it is widely known that it would be in Russia’s best interest to stop Trump, not help him.
